The JOHN ANSON FORD AMPHITHEATRE is hiring energetic and qualified people to be Ushers and Ticket Takers at the over 100 performances presented at the Ford Amphitheatre this summer. The 1245-seat outdoor Ford Amphitheatre is set in the Hollywood Hills just across from the Hollywood Bowl. It is an intimate theatre featuring music, dance, film and family events. The Ford Amphitheatre Season is a program of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.JOB DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the House Manager, performs a variety of duties for theatre performances.
TYPICAL DUTIES PERFORMED: Greeting and directing theatre patrons; providing information and assistance in routine and emergency situations; distributing programs; tearing tickets; seating patrons and responding to patron inquiries with an emphasis on good customer service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work varying hours including nights and weekends, stand for extended periods of time, exercise good judgment, courtesy and tact with staff and public; present a clean, neat appearance and utilize quality customer service skills.
EXPERIENCE: Working as an usher or in customer service in a similar environment is preferred, but training is provided for exceptional candidates.
EDUCATION: Must be at least 16 years of age and be able to provide work permit if under 18. We welcome Bilingual candidates.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have a valid California Drivers License or California I.D. card and a reliable method of transportation.
COMPENSATION: $8.00 per hour; 15 – 35 Hrs per week. Schedule includes evenings and some weekend days.
The season schedule runs from May 27 through October 12, 2008.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide a safe, fun, educational and rewarding camp experience for all of our camp members. At all times counselors are expected to treat all campers in a respectful manner.
- -Assist any and all camp counselors in day-to-day activities and responsibilities regardless of what camper group they may be working with.
- -Check in and out all campers on a daily basis making sure to account for every child entering and exiting Camp. Counselors may release a camper only to the authorized person/s as described in the camp registration form.
- -Make sure all campers apply sunscreen before camp starts
- -Make sure all campers adhere to the camp uniform which consists of the proper color t-shirt per camp age group.
- -All Counselors must be punctual and arrive at 8:00 am prepared to work.
- -All counselors are responsible for cleaning up any area that is used for camp activities after use and in the morning before campers arrive.
- -All counselors must attend two daily meetings before the start of camp and after camp has ended.
- -All counselors must report any problems, accidents or disciplinary issues concerning parents, campers or counselors to the directors of camp immediately.
- -Every day counselors must ensure that each camper receives lunch. Counselors are responsible for retrieving the camper’s lunch from the kitchen and cleaning the lunch area after it has concluded.
- -Counselors must direct all activities and games in a fair and logical manner with campers safety being a priority at all times.
- -All counselors must adhere to Bel Air Bay Clubs rules, policies and procedures in all areas of the club as described in the employee handbook.

Two positions are with one school bookstore located in the Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles and the other two are with one that is located in the North Hollywood area of the San Fernando Valley. The bookstores are looking for energetic, creative and organized individuals, who have good judgment, are able to multi-task and are accustomed to offering outstanding customer service.
TEMPORARY BOOKSTORE ASSISTANTS FOR PRIVATE SCHOOLS
Two of the positions will run from May thru August and two will run from May thru October.
You should have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and an affinity for quickly learning other software programs.
This is a physically active position: you will unload and shelve books, and pack books for return to publishers. Since lifting is involved, you must be able to lift boxes of books and materials up to 50 pounds in weight, so a knowledge of safe lifting techniques is important as is following the proper procedures in lifting.
You will find yourself performing most aspects of a bookstore operation at one time or another including opening and closing of the store. You would reconcile invoices and perform inventory control, keep track of supplies and textbooks, and assist students with their purchases . You would also arrange displays, receive, label and price merchandise, and organize the annual student registration and book distribution and the book buy-back event.
Prior bookstore experience or retail experience is a major plus. You should also have a stable work history with verifiable references. Most importantly, you must have the patience to interact with students, showing a warm personality, lots of energy and a strong sense of humor!
Since you would be working in a school environment, you must naturally be capable of successfully passing a thorough background check that includes the submittal of fingerprints.
